Annoyed

I am very annoyed today, I posted on craigslist to find a local breeder and I found one. I spent a week working with him to find a good time for both of our schedules to deliver me some rats. We finally agreed on 8-9 this morning, well 9:15 rolls around and no call nothing from him. I finally got in contact with him at 9:30 he tells me he is running behind should be at my house at in 20-30 minutes. By this time we had company over my house because we were planning leaving for 4th of july plans. But i figured ok we can wait for him. 10:30 rolls around and still no call no show. We couldn't wait any longer and had to leave. I wont be doing business with this individual and it pisses me off that he pent all this time working out a good time for both of us just to not show up or even call.

So if anyone knows another somewhat local rat breeder let me know I am in need for my weekly feeding and cant afford the 6 bucks a piece at the pet store. Detroit Area willing to go see them

How far are you from Taylor, MI? The reptile show is coming up in a week and there are generally rodent breeders there (both live and f/t). Also a number of our members here at BPNet vend rodents there as well.

That always sucks when people out and out lie. I understand things come up, or you can run late, but to get them on the phone and they say 20 minutes.. and still no show? That's just plain rude.

I hope you find a reliable supplier. I might need to find a new supplier here for live rodents too. Sigh.

I live like 5 minutes from the show and that is fine for next week but I need some for this week. Do you know any bp.netters that vend near taylor not during the show

Thank you for the support, he seem excited about selling to me, then IDK what happened.

Also on that note. About the taylor show I wish I room to house the rats for a months worth. I might end up making a small breeding group of my own by the time this is all said and done

your snakes should be fine going an extra week without feeding
making a small group to support your snakes wouldnt be a bad idea

sometimes it can be hit or miss with my rat guy, so i started buying a months supply at a time.

thats what i did for the most part
i would buy x many medium that i needed this week and next week, x many small that would be a medium in 3rd week and 4th, x many weaner....

for a smaller snake that takes weaners it isnt as easy

I get annoyed when I have people that want rats or ASF's from classified ads.
Ask me for a whole bunch and I hold them all back for the buyer.
Give them a price.
They agree to the price.
Ask me when it's best to meet,
I reply when is best....


...And they drop from the face of the earth. They never even have the courtesy to reply to my follow up emails or calls.

I've even gone to a show before, 2 hours away in Detroit after we agreed to meet up. I always send an email confirming we are meeting up before I leave in the morning. I call when I arrive. And I was ignored then too. Grrr...

THAT annoys me. I try to be super professional, and I work in an environment that almost completely relies on courteous, fast and friendly emails or calls, so it really irks me when my customers don't give me the same respect in return.

I don't care if they found someone else to buy from for a lower price, but here I am sitting on my thumbs, raising rats for weeks for these people, and they never reply to a call or email.

Finally, I send them a final email or voicemail saying I'm not holding their order any longer unless they reply by a deadline.

So, that's my annoyance.
