    Ranco vs. Johnson T-Stat

Does anyone here have experience with both thermostats (the $80 prewired units from reptilebasics) that can tell me which they like better? Ease of use is my primary concern. Any help would be appreciated. : )

To me both are very similar. I have used both. As I use Helix on my incubators. I bought my stuff from Reptile Basics also. I recomend Reptile Basics.

Yeah I figured they were. But did you prefer one over the other? And if so could ya tell me why?

    Thanks,

I have the Johnson, but I cannot compare the two, as I have not owned a Ranco. I can tell you that the Johnson is about as easy as can be. Hit one button, set temp, hit again set variance. Done. Doesn't get any easier than that.

Here is the comparison: (I own two of each)

Both are on/off style. Both click when they turn on or off, but the Johnson has a quieter click. The Johnson has a green indicator light on the unit to show when it's on, the Ranco does not. The Johnson main unit is slightly smaller than the Ranco.

Otherwise they're about the same. I personally prefer the Johnsons.

Good choice. The johnson also has the night drop attachement and the ranco does not. Night drop could be important if you are considering breeding in the future.
