Ball Pythons and Drums

I know BPs cant hear as we do but i know they sence vibrations, so here is my question..

I havent had my BP for long, but when I was a kid, I was facinated by snakes and drum sets... I started playing drums a few years ago and I havent been playing drums for some time now because of work. So for longer than I had my BP, I havent played drums.

Now I'll eventualy have some more free time weekly during day time. Keeping in mind that Drum vibration's go from very high pitch (Cymbals) to very low pitch (floor toms, bass drum aka kick drum).

My drum set and bp (and everything in between lol) are in my room. If I play the drums, how bad will this be for her?

Oh man, if the neighbors next to me in my apartment played drums...lol. But, I can't see it being BAD for your snake. But the more distance you can put between your drums and your snake, couldn't hurt.

From what I understand Ball pythons can sense ("hear" ground (solid) base vibrations, but they can not pick up air based vibrations as they lack ears with an amplification system.

Very good question! I am looking to pick up a drum set, but I've worried about this also.

If you practice for a half hour or hour everyday (which is a decent amount), I don't think you'd bother your snakes enough to drive them to unhealthiness or going off feed. However, if you could keep the drum banging limited while being in the same room, that would probably be beneficial.

Ultimately, you've just got to see how they respond to it. If they go off feed the first two weeks, there's your answer.

Hmm I'm not sure if you have ever stand next to a drum being played, but it gets very "vibraty" (new word! lol). If you stand in front of the more expensive kick drums you can feel the vibrations pushing you away, those vibrations go into the floor as well.

I dont wanna kill my snakes with my bad music lol and specialy not my first BP! she is special!

We play pretty loud music at my work sometimes and it has never had any adverse effects on any snakes, so a drum set should be ok I would think.

I was actually sort of wondering the samething, except with music and bass from the speakers..

Doubt the drums will do anything to your Ball python. The vibrations from the drum won't do anything to the snake, the snake can only feel it and the feeling wouldn't be painful.

I think it would probably be irritating for the snake, and would watch the snake closely for signs of stress.
