    Can BP's Hear?

Would it be beneficial for a bp to have some sort of ambient jungle music playing

such as water running the odd bird squawking? crickets? and other such sounds?

    Re: Can BP's Hear?

To answer the question in the title: No , BPs cannot hear as we know it. But they can sence vibrations using the part of their body that touches the ground, so the answer can be yes, but just not the way you think about it.

To answer the question in the post, no you would not need that music playing, it would only be beneficial to you. Most of the time, BPs will be squished up in a termite mound in Togo, Ghana, or anywhere else in their range, so they will not benefit from music.

    Hope this helps,
    Kevin

    Re: Can BP's Hear?

Answer: Surprisingly, although they appear to lack most of the structures of an ear, they don't lack all of them. They have enough of an 'ear' to actually hear--even airborne sounds.
