I used to...but once you start feeding an already picky eater gerbils it will be increasingly difficult to get them to eat anything else. And sometimes gerbils aren't as readily available, and they can be expensive to.

I think more people feed african soft furred rats (ASFs) as an alternative for the picky ones.

Re: Does anyone feed F/Thawed Gerbils

surely one gerbil can last for like 10 feedings?

    i mean.

you can dice the gerbil. (freeze till soft before hand to make sure its not messy) but him in a blender. whatever.

when you wanna feed, take out a f/t mouse. and defrost a cube of gerbil or a tspoon full of gerbil paste. then rub the cube all over the thawed mouse, or even better, rub a little gerbil paste on it.

im sure thatd work. gruesome as it may be :p

cost effecient too , you may even get 20 feedings :p

reptile places need to sell an "aroma of gerbil".
damn.. i always blab my patentable ideas.

Re: Does anyone feed F/Thawed Gerbils

I don't see why scenting with gerbil wouldn't work, works well with other species of snake. But I've never had a problem getting them to eat either mice or rats. My only 'problem feeders' are the ones that will only take mice. Granted I've got some that will miss more then the occasional feeding, but I find it easier to wait them out rather then switch around to different rodents. I'm really not in THAT big of a hurry.

Re: Does anyone feed F/Thawed Gerbils

haha wow i thought you were joking about the gerbil paste stuff by the way you were getting more disgusting as you went on haha. but i tried to get a gerbil before because i was in dire need for a feeder and mice weren't an option. they had jumbo rats only. so i was like well ill take a gerbil and the person told me they couldn't sell me it because they knew i was gonna feed it to my snake. They said it was illegal, but now that im reading my story im thinking they may have just wanted to save the gerbil. haha i did kinda feel bad about trying to kill a gerbil, an animal i used to have as a pet.
