ok I recently got 2 bags of aspen chips from tractor supply. and al lthe snakes are doing great but the one little guy. ( his tub was filled from the bottom of the bag.) well I seen he been soaking he last 2 days and I figure i check on him. and what I find in the bottom of his water bowl about a dozen little red mites. but ther none on him. So I have emtpied his tub placed on paper towels ( which Is after I scrubbed his tub with hot water ( about 160 Degrees) , and then sprayed the entire tub and lid with the reptile relief that came with the lues rat snakeI rescued few weeks ago ( who had and was treated for mites in the same matter with great success) I am figuring that I ether had a pregant mite on me when I clean his tub last or the eggs were dormant in the chips. but the other snakes are in great shape I guessing it the first since I had to clean his cage the same evening I treated the lues rat snake. I am ordering a can of pam, with my flexwatt and snake tonges tomorrow evening if i can get done cutting grass in time to go to the bank.

I wondering what kind of mites these guys are erd color and all the others I seen ( on here and on he lues rat snake were he black and white little sobs.

ANyhow I am going to treat the entire room with a light spray tomorrow and let it sit to help kill any that gotten out of the tub, and just to be a prick to any other creatures that are not snakes in the room ( during thisi proccess I will have the snakes in pillow cases ( wonders if I got 21 of them) and give each snakea nice temped bath to make sure lol..

Should I either bake the aspen, or toss it ( I hate to toss an entire unopened bag if the mites were transported by me), specially since ordering the pam, snake stick and flexwatt will break me for a few weeks. I need the flexwatt due to the fact I got the one bp and all my corns on the new rack and ther no extra heat. I hope the little buggers suffer a lot befoer they die lol they causing me enough heeadache this year.

I need to invent a light or something that I can walk though to kill the mites when they are possible on cloths to prevent these issues in the future, I think both my mite cases were transfered by cloths to the other snakes that were not in QT. I also need to make a new QT room since it was the bedroom, but only allowed snake in it and my reptile room since mom does have friends that are scared of snakes. and I can't sleep in an 80 + room lol
