Re: If i try breeding her now

So basically you want to pair a female you bought today with your Pastel?

You need to quarantine her for at least 90 days before pairing her with your male unless of course you want to take the risk.

I would never consider breeding a new animal “ASAP” as suggested.

There is not rush this is not a race take your time, quarantine her wait until the beginning of next season and she will be even bigger than she is now.

Beautiful advice Deb! OP- The risk is not worth it!!! I would listen to Deborah's advice. I know you really want to breed but have you taken everything into consideration? The cost of feeding and housing hatchlings, are you going to be able to find homes for them? breeding seems like it would be a lot of fun but it's not something you should just dive into. It takes careful planning and lots of hard work. Do you even have an incubator? If you really want to start breeding her right away at least take her for a vet checkup first. Though I can't stop what your bent on doing I can nudge you in the rightish direction. I would wait. Don't forget that those girls need at least a week and a half to start handling and such! good luck!

I wouldn’t do it to many things can go wrong, if you pair her without proper quarentine it could be a disaster.

Do it right quarantine her and by October she will be even bigger and you will be able to start pairing her than (even in september if you want to start early)

I agree with what Deb said. You're definitely better off waiting! Besides, the female is probably stressed enough from changing owners and homes without the additional stress of having another snake put in with her. She might decide to stop eating AND not breed--or she might slug out, or any number of things. For her health, the males', and for your own sanity...best to wait, eh?
