shed cycle?
So i noticed sunday that my bp has turn REALLY dull in color. She still is. I believe this is the shed cycle now? How long does it last? Should I wait till its over before feeding?

Re: shed cycle?
I start counting days from when a ball python "goes into blue", they get dull in color but very noticeably are the eyes.. they change color dramatically and get a cloudy blue overtone. Usually the snake will go into blue, clear up, and shed 2-4 days later(though not always a concrete timeline)

Re: shed cycle?
You'll first notice a pink belly, this is the clue that a shed is around the corner. I usually bump my humidity at this time. They then get cloudy or blue, most people catch their snakes at this point in time because its so obvious. Within a couple days they turn clear and look normal. Couple days after they turn normal looking you should see a shed. You can or cannot offer food during a shed. Some snakes will eat and others will not. I usually just skip a meal if they are shedding.

Re: shed cycle?
along with what spaniard said about feeding..
I never skip offering food, especially with a new snake. Some predictably eat during shed, some predictably refuse food during shed, but unless you know from experience what your snake wants, you might as well give them the option. No reason to not give them their regular meal if they're hungry and want to eat.

Re: shed cycle?
Its fine, just make sure you have increased your humity to 60-70%. When the snake clears up you will have a shed within a few days. All you have to worry about is bumping the humidity.

Keep that humidity up too. 60-70% is good.

Yup this is a good point; I know which one of my snakes are garbage disposals and which ones aren't. I always offered in the beginning though until you learn their patterns.
