More Tank Supplies?

Im getting some more supplies for my new baby ball and wanted some suggestions. Im getting aspen bedding, and thinking about getting another cave shaped log and put them together with a small opening so he can get in. Would that be a good idea? Maybe some artificial plants?

From what I've read on here, I believe most would suggest that a bowl or some sort if dish shaped hide or rock hide with one entrance would be more secure feeling for your ball and provide more comfort. Aspen bedding is safe though and looks like you have a decent size water bowl so that should be good. You should also make sure you have either a thermostat or reostat to control the heat for both the heat lamp and heat pad to make sure they are within safe and proper ranges for your snake. Most prefer the thermostat for better control. You will need a digital thermometer with a probe to measure both the cool and warm side and ambient air temps. Also a digital hygrometer to measure humidity. Most suggest the accurite brand yuo can get from walmart for under $15 that measures temp and humidity. I have it and it works really well. Forgot the plants, they would also help to fill up any empty or large spaces to help your snake feel more secure too! Makes things look a little more nice and are cheap to get. Just make sure there aren't any sharp edges and that you clean them before putting them in the enclosure.

Those log things are not good hides. You need two identical hides that are nice and snug with a single opening. Plastic plant pots and bowls from the $ store work great!
You also need to cover the back and both sides of the tank with background and insulation of some sort (cork or foam board work best) and I can't tell by the picture but make sure your screen top is either foil covered or has a piece of plexiglass over it to keep temps and humidity in.
Also, you need to get a UTH pad or flexwatt heat tape and a thermostat for the heat. Lamps are good for boosts, but not as the main source. Also, a digital thermometer with probe is the best way to measure temps.
Add fake plants, as long as they aren't sharp, to fill in the open space. And the dish should be something heavy so they can't tip it over. Ceramic cat bowls work very well.
