all joking aside, I have no experience with gerbils, I'm sure somewhere here does though.

geez .... marvin wrk'd lol .... i was looking for some one that knows alot about them. Yah well i heard gerbils kan refuze there partner so yah ...

Gerbils have a real hierarchy system so it's best to do pairs vs. 1 male to multiple females. They will eventually mate but if they came from a group where the male was low rank and the female high rank, she may just snob it up for a bit. If he's mounting or you hear stomping signs are all good :o)
