    body slam...lol

Well my ball python is pretty active at night, he likes to climb the side of the tank and then bend backwards toward the center of the screen. The problem is he gets top heavy and slams into the ground. I have even seen him fall into his water dish upside down. I seriously think he only does this because it feels so good when he stops...lol. Should I be worried about him hurting himself? I have some pieces of drift wood in there, one piece is about 5 inches from the bottom of the tank, could he hurt himself if he were to fall off of this?

    Aren't snakes such clumsy critters

A lot of people like to minimize objects they are able to climb up high and fall off of.

You be the judge here, if it worries you, probably best not to have it in there. It does the snake no good, just you, for aesthetic purposes

In all my animals cages, they get a water bowl and substrate.

    They're doin just fine
