Thumbs up He took F/T! (and weight question)

    Woohoo!!

At the suggestion of his breeder, I waited for 3 consecutive live feedings before trying F/T with my new Pastel. We had success 3 weeks in a row, so I decided to try F/T tonight, since I'm hoping to switch both BPs over. They were out of appropriately-sized rats, so instead I got him 2 fuzzy mice - one live and one frozen, just in case. I gave him the live mouse first, which he gobbled down fairly quickly... then I waited a minute for everything to settle, and dropped/dangled the thawed mouse with tongs. He looked at it for a few seconds, leaned over, and GULP it was gone. I'm happy he is such a good feeder, and hopefully Delilah will be as amenable to the switch... I also got her one of each today, but promised my roommate I'd wait until she gets home to feed D (she's off work at midnight).

Now a question about Toby's size... I weighed him last Friday after his Wednesday feeding of 1 fuzzy mouse, and he was 298g. That is over 50g gain in less than a month, feeding only one mouse/rat pup a week. With increasing the amount of food, do you think he'll be breeding size by next season ('09-'10)?? I'm REALLY hoping to breed him then, and also trying to time out when to get a breeding female. I doubt Delilah will be large enough until 2011 (she only weighs ~350 now), so I'm hoping to add an older girl before the end of summer. Any thoughts? TIA!

Update: Delilah refused both the live and thawed... figured out it's because she is going into shed! I think she can barely see right now, so the mouse was actually freaking her out. Guess we'll try again when she's done shedding.
