feeding hamsters to my ball?
We adopted what seemed like the cutest sweetest hamster. Turns out hes a mean little thing! He hasnt actually bit us yet, but he sure as hell tries to! Can my ball go ahead and have him for dinner?

Re: feeding hamsters to my ball?
I wouldn't recommend it. I had a ball that went off feed for about 3 months. I fed him a gerbil, and he finally ate. The only problem is that's all he wanted to eat after that (and they are much more expensive than mice or rats).
I'm sure your ball would willingly eat the hamster (mine also ate a few of those), but then you run the risk of him losing his appetite for mice or rats.
Hope this helps!

any new rodent will act like this handle it and it will learn.
i wouldn't recommend feeding it to your snake. would you feed your ball python to a mongoose if it was mean when you first got it?

gerbils/hamsters are basically the crack of the ball python world. the imprint on them easily.

my ball python gets all huffy and starts searching and flicking his tongue rapidly, when i take him around our hamsters. which he does when he smells or sees food.

Hamsters by nature are anti-social, solitary animals. They don't make very good pets in my opinion. If you want a "small animal" as a pet a rat is a much better choice.

Remember, sometimes petstores give medical injections to their rodents. This is petsmarts reason for not selling live rodents for feeding. It could potentially cause issues for the snake if fed.
