What My Group Could produce
I am just curious what my group could produce. Three of them are still babies right now, but when they get old and big enough, I would like to try breeding them. I have an 0.1 Anery het snow, 1.0 snow, 0.1 Zigzag normal and a 0.1 Creamsicle.
Anybody know what I could do with this group? I guess I am wondering what I will get with each pairing, if I did it that way. The only male is the snow, so it would be a snow x zigzag normal, snow x anery het snow, snow x creamsicle.
I really want to pick up a few others like a butter, ghost or lavender. Something like that. Any advice or ideas are welcome. Thanks a ton.

Re: What My Group Could produce
Snow x anery het amel = 50% snows and 50% anery het amel
Snow x creamsicle = 100% creamsicles het anery (or snowsicle)
Snow x normal = normal 100% het snow
This is assuming there are no hidden hets. A butter and ghost would fit nicely as you already have amel and anery in the mix, so you'd be adding caramel and hypo to your gene pool and be able to produce morphs in the F1.

Thanks for the reply. The anery is het for snow, not amel though. Does that change things for the snow x anery het snow pairing?
Also, the normal has the zigzag pattern. Would that show up in the offspring or is it a recessive gene? Thanks.

Snow = anery + amel, so anery het snow = anery het anery + amel = anery het amel. Since its homozygous anery it technically is only het amel, not snow.
But both are common to say, and many will say it just as you did, I just prefer to say the individual genes if the animal is already homozygous for one of the genes necessary for the combo morph, if that makes sense.
In other words, doesn't change the predictions.

Zig-zag and aztec are not simple recessive genes. You can have zig-zags show up from normal parents, and have two zig-zags produce all normal off spring. However, having a zig-zag increases the chances of the off spring having it as well. So while there is no guarantee that any will show it, it is very possible that some will.

cant add anything to that detail.. perfect.
from a future point of view, maybe you could also consider something with bloodred..
so the lavender and blood could make plasma
the lav and amel can make opal
blood and butter (amel and caramel) make sulfur.. so for a few genes you can realy increase the potential in your genepool a lot.
