Usually done up by the breeder if not mistaken
If you didn't get any with your animals, you'd be breeding them to try and prove out the genetics. Then fill your paperwork out from there.

I've rarely received paperwork for genetics, even from the big breeders. It's a GIANT pain to try to sell the animal with no paperwork. Really, should buyers have to ask for the paperwork? Or should it automatically be sent with hets?

Paperwork are done by the breeder from whom you buy the animals from.
Not every breeder will provide paperwork some will only provide you with an invoice mentioning the animal being purchased.

to me if they won't give you the paperwork for a het they must not really want to buy their snake. I won't but a snake thats a het without paperwork

In my mind there are things that should come with every animal you buy.
1: Feeding records.
2: Invoice
3: Genetic Papers showing Sire and Dame and off spring. This should also include the breeders ID number for all three so the buyer can tell if any of the animals they purchase later are related.
You shouldn't have to ask, you shouldn't have to beg..I will not buy from a breeder at a show that doesn't have these items on hand.

I have a het clown that came with an invoice instead of paperwork and I have no problem with it simply because it came from a very reputable source.
Paperwork does not mean anything if the source is less than reputable
Personally when I sell animals (except for the normals) I like to give the buyer detailed paperwork (on a CD) along with pictures (and permission to use the pictures) so the animal can be traced if being re-sold but that’s me not everyone does that.
More often than not if you buy from a show you will not get any paperwork either.
To me it's not really about the paperwork it's about who I am buying from more than anything else.

I have two het pieds from Adam, I am not at all worried- but oh yeah, they came with records and paperwork!
I have a het albino that came with nothing, from a friend. I would sure hope my friend wouldn't screw me over. I doubt he did.
The rest of mine are visuals so I am not concerned.

I bought my hets without paperwork but I did get all the information regarding the breeder who produced the animal, and contacted the breeder.
