    hungry snake?

One of my 2 month old snakes is very active all over the inside of his home during the day time when he should be hiding. Today, I spotted him "digging" around in his substrate with his nose, even burying his head in it a time or two. Is he hungry? He ate 5 days ago, looks very healthy (at least for as little as I know at this point), has definitely put on weight recently. Should he be eating more frequently or is he just a curious little guy?

He did drop a load last night that was yellow-ish in color. Could these two things be related?

    Re: hungry snake?

    Sounds kind of vague...

I feed my snakes every 5-7 days, so that sounds ok.

He might be hungry still which could cause him to become a little restless. Make sure your offering right size prey.

Also what kind of set up? Husbandry? How old is the snake?

Sounds to me like everything is ok.

    Re: hungry snake?

Thanks. What do you mean by "vague"? Are you referring to the behavior described or about the poop? He is in a 20 gal/long glass vivarium, w/ two hides, water, temps/humidity are pretty good, w/ fir bark substrate. I don't know anything about the husbandry. I got him from a reputable breeder/seller. I have two BP's that are the same age, around 2 months, that the breeder told me to keep together for a few months and then separate them. I realize after spending much time on this site that I should probably separate them now; which I will this week. So it could be that he's stressed about sharing his enclosure, right? He has always been the more active/curious of the two, so maybe he's just exploring?

I am a little concerned about the way he has been "forcefully" pushing his nose against the side of the enclosure and burrowing his head in the substrate because BP's are not supposed to be burrowing snakes. Thanks again for the input!
