Re: Freakie Frog?
As I am related to Freakie Frog I can partially answer. If you are refering to the baby rack we use heat strip down the back. If you are refering to the larger racks it is a 3" heat strip in the rear with a Helix

Re: Freakie Frog?
It depends the racks that use the expanded PVC use a 3" wide stripe as has been stated above. However the melamine racks use a 12" long section of 11" wide Flexwatt. The melamine tends to adsorb allot of the heat and because of that the 3" stuff wasn't keeping the temps where I like them.

Re: Freakie Frog?
I can say that I much prefer the rack design that uses the expanded PVC. The humidity control is much better, and the weight of one of the PVC rack is less than 1/4 that of a melamine rack.
If you have the resources and the skill and time build your rack using that design. I've never been happier with any of the home made racks.

Re: Freakie Frog?
Thanks for the response.
I meant the larger adult racks, sorry for the confusion.
So the expanded PVC is better than the melamine. I plan to build a 5 slot rack using that design.
Congats on the clutch to.
Thanks

Caleb,
To me the PVC is a much better design but your going to find that what works for me down here in the South might not work so well for you where you are. Give it a try and see if you like it. I have really grown fond of them for the way the tubs sit and how easy they are to pull in and out. You have a greater control on the humidity factor because the holes are in the PVC and not the tubs. Also they are so much lighter so moving them is a breeze if you have to.
If you have any questions you can always Pm me or email..Just let me know if I can do anything for ya.
Best of luck and make sure you get some pics of that rack when your done.

No what you'll have to do is find a local plastic supplier in your area and purchase it from them.
Here's a tip most of these place will cut the sheets to the size you want for a small fee..and they are way more accurate than you or I could ever be.

Re: Freakie Frog?
Let me also add that the racks built with the PVC are lighter and easier to build
