Zebrabee Confusion
Alright, so my goal is to come out with a zebra bee in the end. (Axanthic Killerbee) Now I need help with the genetics.
Step 1) breed |Pastel x Spider| and hope for that 25% of a bumblebee
2) breed |Bumblebee x Pastel| (what is the percent of this because a punnett square will not work on this, will it?)
3) okay, now lets say now you have a Killerbee. would I breed |Killerbee Axanthic|? I think that would make a killerbee het axanthic because axanthic is recessive.
4) now you just breed |Killerbee het. axanthic x Axanthic| you should have a chance at a Zebra bee.
PLEASE correct anything that is wrong that you see. Also, if anyone has the knowledge, would you please teach me how to figure the percents by using a punnett square or whatever else you use. And if you are unable to teach me that, at least tell me the percents at each level.

Re: Zebrabee Confusion
You would have to breed the Killerbee het. Axanthic to either a Pastel Axanthic or Super Pastel Axanthic. Both parents need to carry the pastel gene.

Re: Zebrabee Confusion
If you breed pastel x spider you get 25% bees. Then you breed a bee to an axanthix and any bees you get from there would be het axanthic. If you bred that babies together either bee het axanthic to pastel het axanthic or bee het axanthic (x2) together.

Re: Zebrabee Confusion
both parents have to carry the pastel gene(either het pastel aka regular pastel, or homozygous pastel aka super pastel)
Both parents have to carry the axanthic gene(either het axanthic or visual axanthic)
At least one parent has to carry the spider gene.
There are multiple possible pairings that would produce an axanthic killerbee.

Re: Zebrabee Confusion
Never heard of a Zebra bee. You do know that there is already a Zebra Pastel that was produced several years ago? Very pretty animal produced by Steve Roussis. Here is a link... http://www.roussisreptiles.com/colle...a_pastels.html
It could be confusing if he were to ever cross that with a spider.
As far as working out the punnet square, remember you're working with three traits. Your goal animal would be homozygous axanthic, homozygous pastel and spider all rolled up into one right? I believe that if you bred a het axanthic pastel with a het axanthic bumblebee you'd have about a 1 in 24 chance of producing what you are looking for.

Re: Zebrabee Confusion
Pastel Het Axanthic x Bumblebee Het Axanthic will yield you what you want, but you must be patient, that is quite the combo. And you will need to remember to make your sacrifices for the Odds Gods.
1.0: Honey Bee | Lesser | Banana Pastel Enchi | Clown 66% Het Albino
0.1: Kingpin | x2 Mojave | Super Pastel HGW | Albino | Sterling Mojave Pinstripe | GHI Pewter | Pastel Het Clown | Sable 66% Het Clown

What would you recommend sacrificing? lol
Alright so I would need to breed a killerbee het axanthic to a pastel axanthic to have a 1 in 24 chance?
Could someone please explain the punnett squares or otherwise behind this?
Thanks,
