    Ranco from a weird site

I think I found a Ranco thermostat for much cheaper here: http://www.climatedoctors.com/items/...?itemid=429705

Would that be the same as the one I would get from say reptile basics?

Yes. You'd just have to wire it yourself according to these instructions...

Re: Ranco from a weird site

I just got two ranco's and had to wire them. It was a snap after I looked up the info. I think it is on fauna, but there is a WONDERFUL post that shows you EXACTLY how to wire them. LOL It even says which wire (black from power source or black from heat source, etc) to put where. It was a snap.

If you do choose to wire it yourself, just be sure to use a properly rated power cord and strip. The last thing you want is to have the cord get too hot and start a fire in your house.
