Does 1 snake shedding encourage others to shed?

My brother has 2 ball pythons that he keeps in the same cage. I tell him he should separate then but he doesn't listen. Well anyways the last 2 sheds they have shed within 24 hours of each other. They have only been housed together long enough for 2 sheds. So is this a coincidence or is there a reason behind this? Thanks Jeff.

Re: Does 1 snake shedding encourage others to shed?

I have all my snakes in the same rack and 4 of the snakes always shed at the same time. IDK, it could be a coincidence but it has happened pretty regularly the last 3 sheds.

I think it has more to do with living conditions like humidity levels, and more than likely when feeding occurs.

I've never seen this with my snakes... But now and then I will walk into my Chameleon room and find 8 chams, in 8 separate cages, out of site of each other, all shedding simultaneously. It's pretty crazy. I agree that it is probably just that they are all on the same keeping regiment.

same feeding schedule, same environment could mean that they shed close together. Or it could just be a coincidence
