    Breeding Combo Co-Dom. Pieds

When you are trying to get a Double Co-Dominant Pied such as a Bumble Bee Pied can you just match a Bumblebee x Pied to get Bumble Bee het Pieds and take the offspring back to a pied to get Bumblebee Pieds or do you have to Produce a Pastel het Pied x Spider Pied / a Spider pied x Pastel Pied

If I am reading your post right any of the proposed breedings you outline would give a chance at a bumblebee pied

    All of those can work

    Hi,

To get 100% double hets you would breed the two homozygous morphs together.

So, in your example, you would breed a visual axanthic to a visual albino.

Del, I think she was asking how to get an axanthic het albino...

Best way to do that would be to breed a snow to an axanthic. A snow to a het axanthic could work as well.

That maybe the easiest way but not many people have a breeding size snow just laying around.

So you can take an Axanthic het for snow and breed it to an albino het for snow. All albinos will be het axanthic and all Axanthics will be Het for albino. And all normals will be 100% double hets.

Granted, but then not many people have bumblebees pieds and bumblebees het pied laying around either

Given the nature of the initial question I took the questions to be purely hypothetical so I chose to answer with the easiest breedings.

I think this is because most people don't want to "waste" a female on something that could take them a little longer. They want instant gratification.

I'm hoping to produce my first Pewter Pieds in 2010. I have 3 male pewter het pieds ready to go....maybe even a Silver Streak Pied with one of my Pastel het pied females. Wish me luck.
