    What is this Pastel worth?

Found this Pastel for sale near me, described as a lemon pastel. Male, 1.5 years old. What's it worth? Truly a lemon pastel?

$150-$250 Maybe $350 if he's a "proven breeder" but that's doubtful because of the age.

Depends what the seller wants, I wouldn't really pay more than that. I got my lemon pastel male for $100 as a baby.

The only way you would really know if it's a lemon pastel is if you know it's parents. It's a fantastic looking pastel if that's a picture of it at a year and a half.

150$ to 200$ if he is a proven breeder. Ive paid 100$ for a proven male that locked up with 10 females, in a season, that was with half the season off.....he wasnt as yellow or bright. But he was worth his weight in gold to produce baby female pastels....lol

Seriously though I paid 1000$ for a 800 gram super Pastel that is EXTREMELY yellow and good blushing. It really comes down to what he is worth to you. My local pet store sells normals for 89$. I would sell normals for 10$.

If your just looking for a pastel? you can find males for 100$, if your going for QUALITY, this guy looks pretty good, I could see some people paying 200$+ for him. Me personally? I wouldnt pay over 200$ for him.

Re: What is this Pastel worth?

Thanks for the fast replies! I haven't seen him in person, so I don't know if it's a current picture or not. There are other pictures that are poor quality near a bottle of something, making it look large enough to be a year-ish in the photos. I'm not particularly looking, just one of those window shoppers that when you come across something that's nice, you look into and maybe end up buying. I can't really deal with another snake right now, but if it came down to it, who knows. I think the seller is asking a bit much right now, but it has been for sale for a little while and slowly decreasing in price...

BTW He is great looking for a pastel, and if what your after is just QUALITY, he looks great. If thats what your after I could see 300$ being fair, personally at that price though i'd start looking into better morphs. I bought a Bumblebee for 500$ an 08 female, that was february this year......just keep yours eyes out for great deals. OR The one ball python that REALLY catches your eye......thats priceless.

Why do you say that? I've seen people breeding males as early as 4 months old.

Very true. I know some males are on their second season at that age. I think it's a nice looking Pastel for sure. As for the value, it's whatever you are willing to pay for it.

Re: What is this Pastel worth?

If he's really that yellow in person - I'd pay up to $400 for him. But that's just me - I'm willing to pay Grade A prices for a Grade A animal, and not pay Grade B and C prices.

Someone in Daytona offered $1500 for my adult male lemon pastel, Winston when he was on the BP.net table. Of course he wasn't for sale, so he's still in my collection.

With people breeding pastels just to breed them, and the plethora of average looking pastels, nice ones are worth far more to me, personally.

Because there has to be eggs on the ground to say he's a proven breeder, and IMO hatched. Considering not many people like to bred their males under a year old because of stress, I say it's doubtful at his age. Of course we are entering egg season so maybe he has some eggs this year...IDK
