    true or not??

    so i wonna build a rack because i want a collection ....
but this guy suppose of "breeder" from petco is telling me not to build a rack.
He said building a rack is for snakes that you are just gonna rotate and not be in tubs for long .... Also said that snakes are better of with over head lighting .... He said they do need "UVB" or "UVA" ....

so i guess my questions really is should i listen to him lol?
I mean do ball pythons and corn snakes need UVB lighting?
And if i keep them in tubs, does this shorten life span for them?
can i grow them up in tubs 4eva or what ?

Ball pythons are nocturnal - that means that they spend their days in a termite mound or rodent burrow during the day (out of direct sunlight, not being exposed to UVB or UVA light). So no - they do not need supplemental lighting.

My permanent collection is kept in racks. Pet store guy sounds like the typical pet store guy who is regurgitating "reptile" information and applying it to all reptiles.

Well I've got 36 of them in tubs from babies hatched last season to very big adult females. If tubs weren't okay for them then I'm just not sure why my biggest female whose over 5 feet long and over 3,000 grams in weight would be as big and healthy as she is.

It's good to listen to advice but it's always better to take that information, look around, do your research and then decide if the advice is really valid or not.

I agree with Robin & Joanna, all mine are kept in a rack.
