    A quasi-newbie here!

Hey everyone, glad to have found this site! My husband and I had a ball python for serveral years, but she escaped. The good news was that neighbors found and kept her. Far as I know, she's still kickin! (They moved) We didn't take her back even though they offered, because at the time I was pregnant and didn't want to deal with that.
Last week, we decided spur-of-the-moment to get another ball when we saw Petco had the babies for $29.99. We had a 55-gal fishtank that we weren't planning to setup for fish anytime soon (not sure if we are moving) so we figured the cost would be very low, overall.
Hubby managed to lose the first snake inside a week! I'm hoping he/she will turn-up. I've put out a scent trap, but I think I need to use an actual mouse. The pinkie probably doesn't put off enough scent. I went and got another snake before the sale was up, though. I didn't sink the money into the setup so I could be snake-less! I figured worst-case we'll have his-and-hers snakes. I suggested naming them 'Thing 1' and 'Thing 2' but weirdly my DH didn't seem to share my sense of humor on that one.
The world is a place, full of people.

Are you sure it isn't lost inside that tank? 55 is way too large for babies...and most likely adults. You could get a divider and use it for both snakes if the other one shows up, though.
