    Female spider RI?

Hi, iīm wondering if my young spider has RI, she is not exactly wheesing but you can hear her breathe, none of my other bp have noisy breathing.

She shows no other signs of sickness, no drooling or foam in her mouth and she eats.

She have had this issue for some time, but i havenīt worried because that she otherwise appears healthy, but now i have startet to worri a bit.

Is it normal for some bp to have a little noisy breathing?

Only one way to know for sure, and that is to take her to the vet. Also you should quarantine her immediately, in case she does have RI.

What are your temps, and humidity at?

^^^^ X2. I would get her to a vet. I don't think it's normal to hear breathing, unless it's stuck shed.

    Re: Female spider RI?

Is it possible that what you are hearing is a very low hiss? One time a new snake I had just gotten was doing that, and since the other snakes I had had up until that point either didn't hiss, or hissed comparatively loudly, it didn't occur to me at first it was a hiss, and I thought RI.

When you say she has had this "for some time", how long is that? Another possible reason for sounds when they are breathing is a bit of loose shed in their nostril, but that should only occur while they are in shed, so I would think that is not the case here.

It is a good sign that she is eating, but if it is an RI, you should get her to the vet before her health goes further downhill. Don't wait for it to get so bad she stops eating, has bubbles in her mouth, etc.

    Re: Female spider RI?

well it might be hisses since itīs when sheīs being held. itīs not every breath but often, sounds like sheīs taking a deep breath and exhales.

I keep her at 82-92 and at around 65 % humidity give or take....

Her temps have been a bit on the low side since i had her i an terrarium and had some trouble keeping the temps right. (was too big)

Now sheīs in a tub with the written temps.

I think itīs several months since i heard it first time but i didnīt react since she otherwise was normal.

Hmm i take her to the vet, just in case.

Good luck! I have my fingers crossed for you. AND remember, it's probably not something you did wrong. It just happens.
