Wait... I think I'm misunderstanding this one... you don't mean one small mouse everyday right?
I have a July bp and he is on adult ASFs now. I'm thinking that's equivalent to a small/medium rat. He eats one ASF a week.

Their heads are small but their jaws detach to open W I D E... so, you want to use a rat that is the same size around as the biggest part of the snake's body.

From what I have seen, all ball pythons look like they have small heads compared to the rest of their body...especially males. Maybe its just me

You don't have to worry about that, though.
A snakes jaw can open up to like 150 degrees, and they spit all over it to make it slide down easier.

    Re: try?

Do you know how much he weighs? I have one late Dec 08, and two July 08. The older ones are 290-300 and the younger one is about 260. I just switched to rat fuzzies, but you should be able to do as big of mouse as you can get.

The biggest I found at my pet store were 22 to 25 g's. If you can't find anything big enough feed her an adult mouse and a hopper. That should be plenty. Try and get a scale. I bought mine off ebay for $15 with free shipping. It goes up to 5000 g's. Hopefully I'll never max it out. lol.
