    Its been over 4 months!

Alright guys give me some postitive suggestions! My 3 year old female ball has not eaten since Jan 15th 2009. I've been Herping for three years now. No problems in Husbandry. Nothing has changed. I know my stuff. I've been feeding her med rat every 10-14 days. Tried switching to small rats...mice..back to rats. Looks like she's interested, after presenting she sticks her head out tongue flicks comes out about 8 inches stops follows the rats movements... stops. Rat walks by and she goes back in her hide. I've done late night lights off, afternoon, early morning. she's in a 40gal tank with 2 hides and a fake plant. Shes been fine like this for 3 years. I have a male enchi kept in a similar setup and he's slamming mice in like 5 seconds. Help I'm losing my MIND. The pet store owners are starting to hate me LOL because i keep bring rats back every 7 days.

3 years old is around the time they become sexually mature. If you're sure your husbandry is spot on, then shes just more interested in boys than she is in food. If she has good body weight and tone and isnt loosing weight, she will go back on feed on her own.

One of mine went off from november 08 to march 09 and was still a spotty eater for a few weeks, offer food every 2 weeks until shes back on track if you dont want to keep the rats, or just set up a "pet food" cage and have them hang around for a little while. She will tell you when she wants to eat again, believe me, mine did. lol.

Yup...almost always happens once the snakes are mature. My two little girls have been slamming food consistently all season, but my male pastel (who is now mature) had been off food since Jan 6th. until last Wednesday. Hopefully he'll eat again tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath.

My corn snakes have been doing the same thing - the boys haven't been interested at all in food whereas before they slammed mice like they were going out of style! Heck, my male Amel had the same record as my male pastel for not eating.

Bottom line - don't worry. Keep track of their weight and overall condition, and unless they're loosing a lot of weight fast, just sit back and wait for them to let you know when they're ready again.
