    Wink Lowering Humidity

I got up early this morning to do a thorough cleaning of my female's tub. She had totally messed up the inside of her habitat. Skin shed, poop, urine, it's like everything happened all at once. I took her out and put her in a separate tub with crumpled newspaper so would be pre-occupied messing with it while I clean her tub. I washed the tub, hide, and bowl with soapy hot water. Then I placed the hide and water bowl inside the tub and poured boiling water. I felt like I needed to do this to kill any bacteria from the poop and urine. Then I took my little girl out and rinsed her with warm water and I don't think she like it because she was a bit jumpy but it was just a quick rinse. I dont like the idea of her staying overnight in a dirty tub. I got everything set up: paper towel, water bowl, hide, and then I put her back in her clean tub. Then I noticed my humidity was freaking 90 - 95. I didn't really let the inside of the tub get totally dry, so basically I've created my own problem. The humidity in the room (basement) was 69 and I did not want to open the back door because it was chilly this morning. I've added more holes to the lid but no luck. My wife suggested to put a handheld fan right next to it for increased ventilation and I did and it worked! Within a couple of minutes the humidity inside the tub stabilized around 55 - 60. You might want to turn the fan on and off a few times before you get the proper reading and settle there. Just thought I'd share this quick fix to my fellow newbies in case they encounter the same issue.
