Whats the treatment for an RI? If i go to a vet will they give me a med or something or can i do something with her husbandry. I bought a normal female from Killer Pets last month and i'm noticing some mucus. im gonna take it up with him this sunday at the rep show, hes a good guy tho so i'm sure there wont be problems. I know most of you are gonna say go to a vet, which i will, just want to know if theres anything else i can do.

There really is nothing you can do except to make sure you up the temps a bit in your snake's enclosure to help fight the infection. The real treatment comes from the vet in the form of antibiotics and so forth. The sooner you get your snake there the better.

I was told by my vet to up the humidity as well as the heat. This will help the mucous from solidifying. He also told me to bring it in the bathroom when you are having a shower. You can hang it upside down and gently massage downwards toward the head to release the mucous, as snakes do not have a diaphram to cough it up. You will definitely need to get it to the vet for antibiotics as that is the only treatment. Please do so as soon as possible as the severity of it can change quickly.
