    The hummingbirds are back....

and this little fella is a returnee from last year. He does not care if I've got my face pressed against the glass or apparently hanging out of the window two inches from the feeder with a camera, he will come to sit at the feeder and have a drink. Little rascals that they are! And he guards his feeder from the other hummers so well that yesterday afternoon while fighting, two of them smacked into the window.

I also took some video, but its very difficult to hear the buzz from his wings. You may have to jack your speakers way up to hear it. He sounded like a mini helicopter, especially since he was buzzing inches from my face lol. thanx for looking and enjoy.

    Re: The hummingbirds are back....

Great birds... and great photos. Here in So Cal, we get them like crazy, mostly all year. We have had up to 3 nests in the backyard, and the dive bombing is crazy when they get after each other.

We have set up our yard with natural native plants that attract butterflies, birds and bugs.

My wife complains of one that seems to think her ears are a source of food when she is gardening...!

Cool stuff, Doris! It's so weird how random their movements are!
