Re: My Tub Setup.
ditch the lamp and the sponge container.with the UTH and thermostat you will be just fine for heat, and get a larger water bowl to and i bet your humidity problem will be solved.
**If you cant get your humidity up, and being within range, try puting a handfull or two of aspen grass in the tub on one side.

You:How many snakes do you have?
Me: Oh, just a room full.
You:Eh, how many?
Me:A ROOM FULL.

Yep, it is that crazy lamp setup you have there. You should be fine without it. Unless the snakes room is frigid.

Re: My Tub Setup.
Ditch the lamp. No need with the UTH and Herpstat. And put the water bowl on the cool side not the hot side.

Re: My Tub Setup.
Before the lamp my ambient temps where 72-76. I was worried about not being around 80 for the ambient temp. Also in the winter i have the coldest room in the house and I remember it getting to the high 50's. So I may purchase a heater for the room.
Do you think the low to mid 70's is ok for the ambient temp?

Where do you have the probe for your thermostat at?
This could be the biggest reason for your low temps.

Re: My Tub Setup.
if you have a thermostat and UTH you dont need to worry about ambient temps as much. Just adjust your thermostat to the temp you need in the tub.

Re: My Tub Setup.
Just get a room heater, loose the lamp and you should be fine.

Re: My Tub Setup.
I stuck it between the bottom of the tub and the UTH. You can kind of see it in the last pic. I read thats where most people put it. Should I put it inside the tube under the substrate (newspaper)?

Well the thermostat is only reading the temps form the heating pad, not whats actually inside the tub, which could be as much as a 10 degree difference.
Some people put the probe inside the tub, while others cut a small section from another tub and place that on the UTH then tape the probe to that so its not a bother by being in the tub where the snake can jar it loose.
