Exclamation I 'think' we have something VERY special in this baby, please look?

Just learning to identify morph/het traits and he/she appears to have many abnormalities, including the reddish colouring down the sides (after two sheds-no sign of it fading, just getting brighter), random white or faded areas, faded head, some granite appearance. She does have 'aliens' as in a common bp but does NOT look common in any way. Thoughts? I would appreciate ANY input as to what we may have.

ANY input is appreciated!!! We have four with pretty much the same markings and colouring.

The orange will dull out to brown. It will not stay that color.

You have a very nice normal ball python

I gotta say it does look very normal to me. That's the fun thing about baby ball pythons is that so many of them look so unique from the others that a LOT of them look like they've got something special going on. The only way to know for sure if it IS special is to breed it and see what you get.

Almost all baby balls are that orange color after hatching. Like Heather said it dulls out to Orange after a while.

You can always raise them up then breed them to see if the 'granite' quality is inherited.

There are many with that quality, but most are not genetic.

Thankyou!! We do have a couple of definite morphs (spider female, pastel male, blackback (common but still nice ) as well as three 100% het clowns. We hope to breed on a small scale in a year or two when I have assimilated as much info and experience as possible.

What are the COMMON markers of a non common BP that you would look for in a baby? (or link me to something if possible? ) Thanks again!

Agreed, if they would only keep their baby colors
