    Constant soaking

I have a BP that believes he's a water moccasin. LOL Seriously. It isn't time for him to shed yet and I can't see any mites on him. What should I be concerned about or should I be concerned? He seems healthy and happy.

Sometimes a snake will use their water bowl as a sort of "hide" if they feel more secure in it. Do you have good snug hides available for him?

I have a half log for him and I cover the back so it is only viewable from one side and it's not viewable in the traffic area of the house. Can soaking like this hurt him? Respiratory infection is my concern.

You need to have two identical tight fitting hides for him, and toss that half log, it is not the best idea for your snake.

You should have round hides. That being said I have a pastel male that will not stay out of his water bowel. I started fearing scale rot and took his water bowl from him yesterday.I will give it back today. If your BP has been doing this for awhile I would look for mites very carefully .Use white paper towels for substrate and look in his water for dead mites. Also you may want to treat him for mites just in case.
    Good Luck! Mike.

    Cool Re: Constant soaking

Yes X-2^^^ when I got a a few live mice from this pet store they had mites and mine retreated to her water bowl for a few days soaking herself trying to drown them. They are tiny so you have to look really hard, clean out the cage and remove all the items and clean them as well and use white paper towels for a bedding for now just to be safe.
