    It's official

    I am a Windows 7 fanboy.

If Microsoft would have released this as Vista there would be no reputation to win back .. only Apples to eat. It's just an RC but they have done so much right with this thing .. a lot of improvement. It is not without faults, but I am enjoying what I see.

    Heh,

I played with the beta for a while in a virtual Pc and tend to agree with you.

I just don't like the idea it is still just vista code with some of the annoyances removed and none of the supposed new features we were promised.

This was supposed to be a whole new code base and I am still waiting for their new revolutionary journaled file system etc etc etc.

On the other hand I just installed the new mandriva 2009.1 spring in a virtualbox and so far am quite liking it. Of course there are a few teething troubles - Pan crashes as soon as I change a setting or try and make a post for some reason.

Last time i looked it was called mandrake and was a newcomer to the scene so the learning curve is a bit steep at the moment.

I was trying to steel myself for a dual boot system but chickened out like the colonel on steroids.

I agree, I like the OS not the broken promises and the fact tha they are charging for this. I feel it should be a free Vista SP .. but I don't think I am the only one that feels that way.

Maybe just a really cheap upgrade? I love the OS though .. this is Vista fully baked, and I likes it.

I liked Mandriva when I tried it out. I was becoming a linux fanboy for a bit, but incompatibility issues drove me nuts.
