    Odd Observation

I notice when it comes to animals and death, seems like the larger a animal is seems like we have a harder time to killing it. We dont mind killing and feed our snakes rats, but when we hear about dogs being euthanasia its different.
I love dogs and would love to help stop this but, this is just something i notice.

A animal is a animal right?

Not all animals are equal. Not all life forms are equal. Not even all people are equal.

In response to your specific observation about dogs.. dogs are often seen as family members, not just pets. They socialize, teach, learn, help raise kids, change diapers(ok i exaggerate a little but you see what i'm getting at)

Taste great with BBQ sauce, can be baked in pies, roasted, boiled and fryed.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

We don't wanna kill the cute cuddly ones. Nevermind that the energy would be better served educating the public about the need to spay or neuter so that shelters stop overflowing.

I think it is more of what species of the animal kingdom you prefer to raise as a pet and what it eats to keep it alive and happy.

I have a pet rat and a pet hamster and a pet snake. As it turns out, snakes eat rodents, so I feed him a rat. But, I will not feed him my pet rat. Nope. There will be war in my house if that happens.

    Re: Odd Observation

For me it's about survival. My snake has to eat mice/rats to live, so they are doomed the min I pick them up at the pet store. However, who benefits from killing dogs or cats. Other than bringing the population down.

What I don't understand is, how can someone criticize us for feeding rodents? Do they have any idea what's in dog food?

    Re: Odd Observation

To me it is not about the size it is about the degree of atachment and how I see the animal.

I am not attached to rats and/or mice and I see them as food for my snakes, my dog and my rabbit on the other end are a family pets.
