Saved a BP from a vicious eye cap!

My friend was talking to me about snakes since one of his friends in his fraternity has one. He then asked me how often/long do snakes shed because the one at his house has been shedding for months. Well, that didn't make any sense to me and then I figured it was some stuck shed. I volunteered to help the snake get the rest of the shed off.

I went over there today and noticed a stuck eye cap and a bunch of stuck shed around the snakes head and neck. I stuck the snake in a damp pillowcase and rolled off the shed and removed the eye cap. Right when I took off the eye cap he was like a different snake! He stopped balling up and started exploring and looking around.

I did a good deed! Yay happy snake!

I also noticed that the snakes tank was way to big, not enough heat, only one hide, no thermometers etc. There wasn't too much that I could do though. I offered a heat mat, but that would also mean the purchase of a dimmer and a probe thermometer. I didn't talk directly to the owner about the cage conditions, but from what it sounds like, he isn't really willing to spend any money on it :/. Hopefully I can talk him into some better accommodations for the snake or else I will take him to snake rehab!
