is it possible for a pinstriped BP that has not eaten in 3-4 months to shed?... his eyes are that blue hazy color..and the top of his head seems a little scaly... any input would be great !

Yes they can still shed.

well yeah your snake will shed till it dies no matter what. so why has your snake not eaten. Have you been trying to feed and it refuses? What are you trying to feed it? What did you feed it when it was eating? Have you tried the bag technique or pre-scenting? whats the temp/humidity? is he in a new cage? what kind of enclosure does he have? how old is he? how many hides does he have? how often do you hold him? What color is the inside of his mouth? and most importantly have you seen a vet?

i bought him from a breeder at a show about 3 months ago.. he was power feeding him when he had him.. he is about 10 months old.. he hasnt eaten since i bought him.. i'm trying to feed him live mice.. i recently purchased a new enclosure for both of my snakes, but my other one seems fine since he has been eating.. the temp/humidity is fine.. he has 2 hides.. i hold him once or twice a week.. i dont know the color inside his mouth.. and no i havent brought him to a vet yet because he seems fine

the breeder i bought him from was trying to get him on rats.. but then breeding season started so it never happened...

Has he lost any weight?
How often are you offering prey items to him?
Is the prey item being offered the appropriate size?
Give a description of his set up with temps, maybe we can offer some tips to get him back on feed.

well while it is not unheard of for a ball to go without food but I would say that not eating for 3 months is not "fine". You should look in its mouth and see what color it is/isn't. Look for broken/missing teeth and make sure there is not anything stuck or what not. Maybe the prey your offering is not the right size? My baby girl Calypso was a fussy baby, she didn't eat for 2 weeks and I was freaking since she was just a tiny baby when I got her. I tried to feed her pinks cause she was so small but always had a refusal. Then I tried fuzzies and she nommed that mouse faster than a greased black mamba. since your snake is shedding, up the humidity a bit to help with the process. Have you tried prescenting?

His in a split 36 gallon custom built i have a normal bp on the other side who eats fine...humidty and temp are fine...i am offering him a regular feeder mouce about once every week or so..and he just has no interest in it... and yes the room is pre scented... the mouse is in the room for about 30-45 mins before offering it... he acts perfectly normal....and is kinda out going..not head shy...the breeder who i bought him from said he is probably not eating because its breeding season..and he has "plugs" ?....he seems to be in prefectly good health..so idk what is going on?
