    Question Question about vet visits????

I was just wondering if anyone has taken their snakes to a vet for an eye cap and if so around how much are visits for that sort of thing? I am just curios and know that all vets charge differently I just wanted to get a round about figure.

I work at an Exotic Vet (Primates, Avian, Porcine, Reptiles etc...) in AZ and we charge $75 for a reptile exam. I would personally just call around and get prices. We have people call all of the time for prices on things. Just make sure they are knowledgable with reptiles) Good Luck!

    Re: Question about vet visits????

One other thing to keep in mind. If possible, start an account with your herp vet. I pay into an account weekly to ensure I have enough money should one of my pets fall ill or get injured somehow. I pay between $30 and $50 a week on my account to ensure I have enough money for the visit, treatment, meds and so forth. I pay that much simply due to the fact that every reptile I adopt immediately goes to the vet before it even comes home for a thorough physical including fecal studies and so forth.
Most reputable vets will be more than happy to establish an account such as this with you to ensure you have the ability to pay for any care your pet may need. Just a thought.
BTW, for a complete physical for a Ball Python, my vet charges my $110 and that includes the fecal studies and so forth as well. Not a bad price for peace of mind knowing my snakes are healthy.
    Later,

    Bri
