Corn rattle snake?
I can't remember if I've seen a thread about this before, but after feeding my corn her meal, she felt threatened when I tried to pick her up and started RATTLING the tip of her tail! Caught me by surprise. She does have a tiny piece of stuck shed on her tail, which probably helped make an audible rattle!
Has anyone else noticed this behavior in their corn snakes??

Thanks for the video! I have the world's most angry little corn snake. She hates me. Now, she thinks she's a rattle snake. Lucky me

Re: Corn rattle snake?
I have never seen a corn snake do this before! That's awesome! Is it a "fear" reaction??

Re: Corn rattle snake?
Mine does it whenever she doesn't feel like being bothered or when she's eating. Usually she'll make sure she's hitting the side of the enclosure so it makes lots of noise!

Re: Corn rattle snake?
My hatchlings rattled a lot when I first got them. Even my 07 lavender female rattled at me one time when she was really, really hungry. I think with the little guys its defensive and with the older ones its just being over excited about eating. I think its cute and it always makes me laugh, but to answer your question, yes, it does happen and isn't anything to worry about.
