    Question Question.

    Hey everyone.

I got my ball python about 2 weeks ago. Today I brought him to my friends house who has a couple ball pythons. He has two "normals" and he has a spider.

I showed him my ball python and he told showed me how much different mine looked than his normals. He said that he thinks mine might be a Pastel.

So I was wondering if you guys could give me your 2cents. Here is a couple pics.

    Re: Question.

Yup he's a very handsome normal No two normals look alike, there is A LOT of variation. He is definitely gorgeous for a normal though...his neck stripe (the way it joins with his head pattern) is very cool and unique and his colors are amazing

    Re: Question.

    Hi,

    Nice looking normal.

But quarantine would have been a good idea - can you imagine the problems if any of those snakes was ill and passed it onto the others?

it seems that all the animals are established from these posts. i didn't see where any were "new".

however, it's generally not a good idea to let snakes "visit" each other, as this could possibly pass on disease or parasites, if any are infected and they come in contact with each other (or you don't wash hands between animals).

no biggie, i think these guys are just trying to watch out for you.

    Re: Question.

2 weeks is pretty new. I QT for at LEAST 3 weeks. But if you think about, there are many people who have never even heard of quarantine that have multiple snakes. And they all survive. It is really just a precaution. Sometimes they can have an illness that is very contagious and can wipe out any other snake it comes in contact with. That is no fun ):
