    Going on vacation...Need advice!!!

I am getting married in August and will be going on my honeymoon for 2 weeks. Well this will be the first time I will be going on more than a weekend vacation since having my snakes. I am curious to know what you all do when you leave for an extended period of time.

    I have 5 ball pythons. 4 in a rack and 1 in a terranium.
I do not have any friends or family that are into reptiles so I hate to ask any of them to watch 5 snakes.

I could have family stop by a few times just to check in on them but hate to have them handle and clean up poop and feed them since they are not familiar with them.

Any suggestions? Anybody take them to the vet or local pet store when u go on vaca?

    Just have them water them...

Food for a week or two missed is not a big deal.

And as long as they are not being fed (recently), they should make much of a mess.

A week is not a big deal. Just make sure nothing tempwise can happen... THAT is the biggest concern when you are not there.

I actually use a pet sitting service. After months of looking, I found the perfect lady. She was insured, had me sign some waivers, and had no problems with all of my herps. I just make sure feeding day is about 5 days before we leave. She checks the water and if the snake isn't a hissy one, will even clean up after it if needed. You'd be surprised how many pet sitting services will take care of herps. Just make sure they are insured and are accredited with the BBB. Hope that helps!
