uh oh.. mold on the boob egg
my lil boob egg had a little mold on it, like right where the good & bad part meet. I wiped it off but is this common for boob eggs or does it possibly mean it might not make it? Its been incubating for almost a month.

My boob egg went about that long and went south. the 2 eggs that is attached to are about to hatch even with a moldy boob egg attached.

Re: uh oh.. mold on the boob egg
ive seen some people continue scraping the mold off, and applying that liquid band-aid on that end of the egg, and it went full term.
Might have to search around a bit, but it might be worth looking into!

im not really sure that it stops the mold. but if i remember correctly, someone had a thread on one of the forums that had a boob egg in the clutch, and they were taking the mold off througout incubation, and applying the liquid band aid....
Ill try to look for the thread later! it might take me some time though

Re: uh oh.. mold on the boob egg
You might want to try applying a sporicedan (mold killer) chemical to the moldy spot of the egg. I dont know if the embryo can absorb this chemical or not, but it would be worth a shot if its a viable egg and is going to go bad anyways.

Re: uh oh.. mold on the boob egg
I think your best advice would be to scrap the mold off and apply the liquid band aide, I also remember that in a prior thread. The liquid band aid should slow down the new growth of mold because it will keep the air and humidity down to a minimum that mold needs to grow.

Would putting some Vaseline around the moldy part help and be safe?
