FedEx and UPS no longer shipping reptiles???

I just called the UPS and FedEx in my town, and employees at both stores said that they no longer ship live reptiles. I don't think this is right, FedEx just delivered a BP to me last month. Have you heard anything about this?

I used to use Fedex, but used the new www.shipyourreptiles.com for the last snake I sold and found it very convenient. They use UPS overnight, and you can have the package picked up at your door or you can drop it off at any UPS dropoff location.

If UPS doesn't ship reptiles anymore, shipyourreptiles.com can't use them either.

Of course the UPS and FedEx stores are going to say no. Its a process. You cant just walk in a buy a gun can you? No. You have to get veryfied yadda yadda.

Shipyourreptiles.com uses UPS....LEGALLY. Through specific contracts exclusively TO THEM.

    Both companies ship reptiles.....promise

Re: FedEx and UPS no longer shipping reptiles???

I am also receiving a snake tomorrow via UPS(the bee 50%het hypo in my sig.) Most local fedex/ups employees will give you that line because they don't know that you can get certified. Shipyourreptiles makes it easy since they are a 3rd party precertified.

Hardly any Fed Ex employees are aware that they do ship reptiles. You have to call the Live Animal desk & they walk you through the process.

Re: FedEx and UPS no longer shipping reptiles???

IVY hit the nail on the head. Most employees don't know that there is a way to ship reptiles with FedEx. After you get certified, you then begin the process of educating the employees at your local hub about their own policies. The lady that I deal with regularly is actually interested in them now, and asks what I am shipping and where it is going. She is kind of amazed at how many snakes I ship, and that they actually go to every state. Some people just don't know how big our hobby is.
