    Flexwatt on 1/2 Plywood

    Hello,

I'm drawing up some plans for a Python enclosure based on the plans here

I'll be dividing the 46" enclosure in half with one BP in each half. To heat the enclosure, I'd like to run a strip of 11" Flexwatt tape along the bottom of the enclosure at the back, thus creating a hot spot at the back of the enclosure.

This will be my first BP enclosure. I've never used Flexwatt before. Will I get enough heat through the 1/2" plywood?

    TIA

I use a zoomed uth on the bottom of 3/4 mdf if I don't regulate it the wood gets too hot on the inside ......not sure if plywood will transfer heat as well .....it's worth trying it out ..if it does it will be way less of a headache getting your hotspot ...

I would highly recommend replacing the bottom with PVC (not expanded) it transfers heat easily and can be worked like wood as well as being easily cleaned. Wood is difficult to heat through.
