    Question heating and lighting

    another question!

    with my new ball python how long should i leave his light on? and when should i turn it off? im an insomniac and am up all hours of the night, so how late is too late to have his light/heating source on?i do have a under tank heating pad so there is always source of heat.

    Well, he really doesn't need a light. Unless you have trouble with your temps. I would just turn it off when the sun goes down. They are nocturnal, and the light could stress him out. When I turn on the room light at night mine stops moving, looks at me, then jets back to her hide.

    k thanx, i just use the light as mainly a heat source, i live in michigan so it gets pretty cold up here. another question, how crucial is humidity while my bp is shedding?as of right now it is at 60. my main concern is him having a nice healthy shedd.

    60% is fine... I've had my two BPs have perfect sheds with 45% humidity.
