    Axanthic Pied

I have a couple questions... If I were to breed an axanthic and a piebald together what would be my chances of a axanthic piebald? Why have so few of these been created? How much do they go for high and low end? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Axanthic Pied

Axanthic x Pied = all Normal appearing snakes that are 100% Double het for Axanthic Pied. So the chance of producing an Axanthic Pied from a Axanthic x Pied paring is 0%.

By breeding two 100% Double het for Axanthic Pieds together, each egg will have a 1/16 chance of producing an Axanthic Pied. That is why there aren't many around. Plus the fact that it is a pretty recent project.

I do not know about pricing for Axanthic Pieds or if any are even for sale, but I'm sure someone is selling Double Hets.

Both of the genes are recessive right? And thats why both need to be het.

Thanks very much for the info.

    Re: Axanthic Pied

I have seen them. They are awesome looking! I have been searching for both axanthics and pieds, as I love the axanthic and my boyfriend likes the pied. We thought about getting a pair of hets for each morph but my boyfriend might start a new job and he would give me money to just buy an axanthic and a pied. We thought about pairing them up later on down the road but are unsure as of now. It would be a neat project.

well getting and axanthic and a pied ( visible ) would cut the proccess in half and speed up the time it take to get a axanthic pied. As you won't have to raise hets breed them then raise those up to breeding age.( so cut out steps 1 lol ) withthhets you keep a male and 2-3 females and have better chances of getting the visble axanthic pied. plus what ever pied, axanthic, and hets also . which would be visible and het for the moprhs. for the most part. at 66% het they would sell fast I say.
I am too poor so I hot ot go the long way with hets and hope my luck proves out lol.

Well the plan is to buy an axanthic and a pied and go from there. If the plans falls through and we dont get the money then I am going to start with hets and do it the long hard way. Either way I will do it.

The comes the hard part of figuring out if I want a male or female axanthic and a male or female pied....

Well if it makes it any easier Pied male, female axanthic will be the cheaper of the two options.

    Re: Axanthic Pied

I thought that combo as well. I thought about later pairing the pied with other morphs as well but I would like to get my favorite first! I dont wanna tire the little guy out either. We will see I guess. Thanks for your input! Greatly appreciated!
