I have had ten people email me telling me "Thanks" and that they were sending off letters, emails and calling! Keep in mind that this large response is in the small city of Chattanooga, TN and that only a small number of people are taking the time to email me.

Please post information about HR669 on Craigslist (in your area) and Unrelated Forums! While there is a lot of debate (and support of the bill), every person counts! Most people I've run into had no idea about House Resolution 669.

I posted in Rochester NY where im located currently, but CL always hates it when i post multiple articles to multiple cities (next up is Philadelphia when it lets me).

Ive had one response for more information (which was given) and one rather nasty e-mail which i tried to ignore. Hope everyone is having more luck than me.

Here's an e-mail I got in response to my CL ad today:

maybe the govt. is trying to control poaching in foreign countries.You think the animals ,birds or reptiles are captured and shipped to your home.No, they are bred to produce sales as on cl.
Everyone on cl post things about bybs but its ok to sell exotic animals or fish there. Its just overlooked. I think thats wrong. If you breed birds you are a breeder,same as with rabbits,gerbils,rats,snakes,hamsters. If you want to breed and buy,sell then voice your opinion on cl about byb bashing. I raise and sell akc german shepherds at home but to all on cl flag patrol, i am a lowlife but all you exotic owners can do whatever you all please.
I believe thats called profiling.
I will be the first to stand up and flag a irresponsible breeder because you can tell who they are.

This isn't about people advertising on Craigslist. A responsible breeder doesn't use Craigslist. I personally have NEVER sold an animal on Craigslist and I also flag breeders. I don't have to sell animals on Craigslist, I have a waiting list for my animals (I breed ball pythons, btw) that I can't fill.

I HAVE placed a Craigslist ad last summer to place baby male normals for FREE in good pet homes. I had a list of requirements in my lengthy ad about what I expected from the adoptors. They had to send me a receipt of their purchases to set the animal up, they had to answer basic care questions of ball pythons to my satisfaction - if I felt someone didn't know - but genuinely wanted to learn, I took the time to help them.

I went through 100 replies to find 5 pet homes that I felt comfortable placing my normal males with. They may not have a lot of monetary value as normal males, but their lives have GREAT value to me.

This is about the goverment trying to yet more of our rights from us. There are only a HANDFUL of animals that are exempt on this bill. Imagine the impact on local mom and pop pet stores who will have to close their doors in this recession. What happens when a child's hamster dies and it's illegal for his parents to get him a new one?

I'll stand beside you in the fight to flag breeders! Will you stand beside me to help stop a bill that removes even more of our rights as American Citizens?

The animal rights people are flagging every post I put on Craig's List now referring to HR 669. I can tell it's getting to them and they are now scrambling as I don't think any of them exepcted us to organize like this so quickly.
That's ok though. I made 750 copies for each representative on that sub-committee and I will mail a manilla envelope every single day until all my copies are exhausted. NOBODY is taking away my rights to have reptiles as pets....NOBODY!!!!!!!
