Popping?
Probing, sexing, whatever you like to call it, but how do you do it? I don't want to rupture anything because I heard if you do it wrong, you can really injure him/her. Is there a safer way? I want to see what sex my snake is.

Re: Popping?
i think the best way would be taking it to the vet.

I have thought of that, but I would really hate to pay an exuberant amount of money just so they can do that. :-/

It's really best if someone shows you how to do it in person, otherwise yes you could injure your snake. I too think you should take your snake to the vet if you really want to know the sex. Call up a couple local vets, I was quoted $10 per snake to have them probed... I didn't end up doing it cause I had a friend visit who knew how to pop but I would have payed $10 bucks.

While it is possible to pop an adult BP it should only be attempted by seasoned professionals... think of hatchling snakes as rubberbands, it's harder to hurt them and they tend to bounce back. Older snakes, and bp in particular because they are so heavy bodied, can be hurt more easily because they are stiffer and no longer growing/healing at a rapid rate.
Bottom line... cough up a few bucks and take them to the vet... If you can't afford a simple gender check then you have no business breeding anyway, and if you're not breeding then why do you need to know the sex.
Just my humble opinion.

You might have tried, but your links don't work. Maybe preview post, make sure all is well, then submit? I might be misinformed though
