    Mites or ticks?

Last night i got out the magnifying glass and gave Xena a good once over. I found two Ticks/mites. I have spent most of today trying to find something that looks like these things but so far can't find anything. So I thought i'd make sure I know what im looking for. Mites are black or orange in coloring? and having removed quite a few ticks from myself I can spot them pretty well. These things i guess looked like ticks more than mites. They had white oblong bodies with kinda a red swoop near the head. I removed them with tweezers making sure i got the head and can't find anymore. I don't just love askin ?'s that a can research online, but i can't find anything that looks like these things, and you guys are always really helpful so i thought I'd see whatcha thought.

    Thanks
    Matt

i would urge you to look into getting some provent-a-mite to make sure they dont come back.
