    Is it ok

to give him 2 fuzzie mice at one feeding? He has had 2 successful feeds, but the last thread someone said the fuzzies were too small for him. I have 2 left, with him finally feeding should I give him the last 2 mice in 1 feeding or should I feed 1 fuzzie mouse and then 4 days later 1 fuzzie (that's his schedule, every 4 days)

You can feed both in one feeding. Just wait for him to get the first one down and give him time to realign his jaw before offering the second one.

    Re: Is it ok

We have trouble keeping hoppers in at pet stores here. The last feeding my pet store only had small fuzzies. My bp ate three in one feeding, and she's only about 140 g. I just give her 10 to 15 min from one to the other. She's also eaten 1 hopper and 1 fuzzy. I'm planning on getting a rat pair, so I can get her on a constant feeding schedule. Usually she'll let you know if she is full. If she doesn't eat it, she doesn't want it.

    try a single adult mouse.

it shouldn't have a problem with it and most stores have them consistently.

i think i will. She will let me know if its too big won't she? By not eating it? And I could get some different sizes. If she doesn't eat one, I'll try a smaller one. I just don't want to waste any mice.

I would assume she could eat it. In the wild they don't have the luxury of picking and choosing mice. But that's my own thoughts. We just picked up what the lady at the pet store said they were feeding him, not knowing he wasn't getting enough food.

    Re: Is it ok

I would just try to feed him as much as he'll eat in one sitting (especially if he's an inconsistent eater and you don't know when he'll decide to eat next), he'll stop when he wants... Just depends on how much he does eat as to when you should try to feed next. For instance, if you feed 3 fuzzies at one time and it leaves a good-sized lump in him he might not want to eat again for a week/week and half. Or one to two fuzzies at a time, maybe he will eat twice a week, etc. Just make sure he realigns his jaws in place after he's done with the first so he's ready to receive another one. And eventually if you find you are feeding him too many fuzzies in one sitting you might want to upgrade the prey size to a small/medium mouse or so. They each have their own preferences. Like for example some of my snakes will only eat 2 small rats (afraid of a larger size, I don't know) while another one the same size will take a medium rat. But if it's Jake the 19 incher he should probably be eating a decent sized mouse/rat pup or maybe weanling once a week. And I'm sure you know about power feeding, just feed him enough to where he has a good growth rate but not gaining excessive weight and length with a noticeably smaller head
